About our concrete contractor crew in McAllen, TX

How I got into concrete in McAllen
I spent my first working years at a desk, and I left because I wanted to build things I could stand on. I learned concrete on a crew here in McAllen, pouring flatwork like driveways, patios and sidewalks along with foundations, and I started Craftsman McAllen Concrete Construction in 2017. Today we pour driveways, patios, slabs and footings for homeowners, small business owners and builders in McAllen and the cities around it.
Nine years in, my favorite jobs are still the ones with a catch, like an odd slope, a tight entrance or an old slab nobody can explain. In Hidalgo County a lot of homes flood because rain can't get into the storm drains fast enough and ponds up against the house, so I ask where your water runs before we talk about finishes. If I don't know something yet, I'll tell you that and how we'll find out.
How we run your concrete job, start to finish
Most of what decides how a slab holds up happens before anyone sees it, in the ground, the drainage and the cure. Here's what that means for you while we're working.
The person who looks at your job stays with it
I'm the one who comes out to look at your job, and I'm on site with our crew through the pour, so what we agreed on is what gets built. Nobody new shows up on pour day with a different idea of the plan.
Your pour date follows inspections and the cure
We set the pour around any inspection your job needs and around curing, the stretch when fresh concrete gains strength before you walk or drive on it. That date is picked for your concrete, not for what's handiest for us.
A written quote you can compare line by line
Your quote spells out what's in it and what isn't, so you can lay it next to any other bid and see who left out the base work under the slab. If you'd like one, send us a few details and I'll come take a look.
Licensing, insurance and the permits your job needs
Licensed and insured.
We're licensed and insured, which is the first thing to check with anyone pouring concrete on your property. You're welcome to ask about it at the estimate.
City permits and inspections
Inside McAllen city limits, building permits come from the City of McAllen's Building Permits and Inspections Department. When your job needs a permit or inspection, we help you line it up, and if you're not sure about yours, we'll check with the city office that covers your address.
