Agreeing to these terms

These terms apply when you use this website or hire Craftsman McAllen Concrete Construction for concrete work. By browsing the site, sending us a request or accepting an estimate, you agree to them, so please read them before you book a job.

If something here doesn't fit your project, tell us before work starts. Anything we agree to in a signed written estimate or contract for your job takes priority over these general terms.

What we do

We're a concrete contractor in McAllen, TX, and we pour and finish flatwork, which covers driveways, patios, sidewalks, garage floors and similar slabs. We also build steps, pool decks, retaining walls, footings and foundations, and we do decorative and stamped concrete, concrete cutting and foundation raising. You can see the full list on our home page and read more about the crew on our About page.

The descriptions on this site are general. The exact work for your property, including thickness, finish, steel and layout, is what's written in your estimate.

Estimates and pricing

We give free estimates at your property, with no pressure and no obligation to hire us. An estimate is our price for the work it describes, based on what we can see and measure on the day we visit.

Some things only show up once the old slab is out or the ground is open, such as soft or wet subgrade, which is the soil the new concrete sits on, buried roots or old debris. If we find a condition like that, we'll stop, show you, and explain the cost before doing any extra work. We won't add charges you haven't agreed to.

Estimates are good for the period written on them. After that, material prices can change and we may need to update the figure.

Scheduling, weather and cancellation

We'll give you a start date when you approve the job, and we'll keep you posted if it needs to move. Concrete depends on the weather, so rain, high wind or heat that would weaken the surface can push a pour back, and we'd rather reschedule than pour a slab we can't stand behind.

New concrete needs time to cure, which is the wait while it hardens and gains strength before you walk or drive on it. We'll tell you how long to stay off your slab, and damage from using it early isn't covered by our work guarantee.

If you need to cancel or reschedule, please call us as early as you can. If materials have already been ordered, delivered or placed, or the site has been dug out, you may be responsible for those costs, as stated in your agreement.

Payment

The payment schedule, any deposit and the accepted payment methods are written in your estimate or contract. Please read them before you sign, and ask us if anything isn't clear.

Final payment is due when the work described in your agreement is finished, unless your agreement says otherwise. If a payment is late, we may pause further work until the account is settled.

Your property and the job site

You agree to give our crew safe access to the work area and to tell us about anything buried that we might hit, such as sprinkler lines, private gas or electric lines, septic parts or drain pipes. We'll take reasonable care around anything marked or pointed out to us.

Concrete trucks and equipment are heavy, so some marks on grass, soil or the path to the work area can happen. We'll talk with you about the best route before the pour and clean up when the job is done.

Warranty and what concrete does on its own

We're licensed and insured, and we stand behind our workmanship. Satisfaction is guaranteed on every job, and any specific warranty for your project is written in your agreement.

Concrete can develop small hairline cracks as it dries and as the ground moves with the seasons, and that's normal. We cut control joints, which are planned grooves that give the slab a place to crack in a straight line instead of at random, but no contractor can promise a slab that never cracks.

Our guarantee doesn't cover damage from loads heavier than the slab was built for, early use before curing is done, harsh chemicals, de-icing salts, tree roots, flooding, ground movement outside our control, or changes or repairs made by someone else. Color and texture in decorative and stamped work can vary a little from samples, because each pour is mixed and finished by hand.

Limitation of liability

To the extent Texas law allows, Craftsman McAllen Concrete Construction's responsibility for any claim related to a job is limited to the amount you paid us for that job. We aren't responsible for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost use of a driveway during curing, delays caused by weather or suppliers, or conditions on your property we couldn't reasonably have seen.

This website is for general information. We try to keep it accurate, but we don't promise that every page is complete or current, and you shouldn't rely on it in place of the written estimate for your job.

Settling a disagreement

If you're unhappy with something, call us first at (956) 331-0213. Most problems get fixed fastest when we come out, look at the slab with you and agree on what to do.

If we can't work it out between us, we both agree to try mediation with a neutral third party before going to court. If that doesn't settle it, either side may bring the matter in the courts of Hidalgo County, Texas.

Governing law

These terms and any agreement for work with us are governed by the laws of the State of Texas.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time, and the version posted on this page is the one that applies. Changes won't affect a job you've already signed for unless we both agree in writing.
